Terms of Service

Last updated:

These terms are an agreement between you and InfographicHQ, which runs infographichq.com. By using the site or creating an account, you accept them. The short version: what you make is yours, you are responsible for the words you publish, and don't abuse the service.

1. The service

InfographicHQ turns a topic, notes or text that you provide into an infographic, using AI. A language model drafts an outline, you edit and approve it, and an image model draws the body of the infographic from the text you approved. The title, logo and footer are added by our own code. A finished image is Portrait 4:5 (1568 x 1960 pixels) or, on a paid plan, Wide 16:9 (1920 x 1080) or Square 1:1 (1568 x 1568).

Results are AI-generated. Illustrations, layout details and lettering can vary from one infographic to the next, and no specific result is guaranteed. We limit the amount of text in an infographic and proofread every infographic automatically against the words you approved; if that check finds a mistake we draw it again at our cost, and if it still finds one you are offered a free redo. If the check is temporarily unavailable, the infographic is delivered without it and marked as not checked. All of this reduces lettering mistakes. It is not a guarantee that none remain.

The outline is a draft written by an AI and may contain errors of fact. Approving it makes the words yours: you are responsible for checking an infographic before you publish or rely on it, and for the accuracy of what it says.

2. Your account

You must provide a valid email address. We sign you in with a link sent to that address, so keep your inbox secure and do not forward sign-in links - you're responsible for activity on your account. One free infographic is included per person; creating multiple accounts to get more than one free infographic is not permitted, and we use technical measures to prevent it.

3. Plans, credits and payments

  • One credit generates one infographic. Writing and editing the outline is free. Changing the title or subtitle of a finished infographic is free. Changing it to a different brand, or to no brand, redraws it as a new infographic in the new colours and fonts, and uses one credit like any other; the original is kept unchanged. Anything else that redraws the body of the image also uses one credit.
  • Plans are monthly subscriptions. Starter is $5 a month for 10 credits and 1 brand; Pro is $20 a month for 50 credits and 3 brands. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. A plan is charged in advance and renews automatically every month, whatever was used, until you cancel.
  • Monthly credits reset at each renewal and do not roll over. Credits left at the end of a billing month end with it, and the new month starts with the plan's full allowance.
  • Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from your account. Your plan runs to the end of the month you have already paid for, your remaining monthly credits stay usable until then, and you are not charged again.
  • Changing plans. Upgrading takes effect immediately: your billing month restarts that day, you are charged the new plan's price less a credit for the unused part of the month you had already paid for, and the new plan's monthly credits replace the old ones. Downgrading takes effect at your next renewal; until then you keep the plan you paid for. If a downgrade leaves you with more brands than the new plan includes, none are deleted: you choose which to keep using, and the others become read-only until you upgrade again.
  • Top-ups. One-off packs of extra credits can be bought by accounts with an active plan. Purchased credits expire 365 days from the date of purchase, each pack on its own clock, and are not reset at renewal. Your monthly credits are always spent first, then the top-up pack closest to expiring, so nothing lapses while a newer pack sits unused.
  • Top-up credits and cancelling. Top-up credits last 365 days and can be used while you have an active plan. If you cancel, they are locked, not lost: they unlock when you subscribe again, and their expiry date does not change. If you have top-up credits when you cancel, we show you how many will be locked and when each pack expires, and ask you to confirm before the cancellation goes through.
  • Credits we give you free of charge expire in 90 days.
  • If an infographic fails on our side, its credit is automatically returned to your balance.
  • The free infographic is delivered either as a watermarked preview or as a copy you may post, 1080 pixels wide. Starting a plan unlocks it at full size, without a watermark.
  • If a renewal payment fails we will tell you by email so you can update your payment details. A plan whose payment cannot be collected may be ended, and the rules above for a cancelled plan then apply.

4. Refunds

If you have paid for a plan or a top-up and haven't used any of the credits that payment gave you, you can request a full refund within 14 days of the payment by emailing [email protected]. Credits spent on infographics are non-refundable, since each one incurs real processing costs. A first plan payment that unlocked your free infographic counts as used. An infographic that fails on our side is not a spent credit: its credit is returned to your balance automatically. An infographic that our own proofreading check rejects is drawn again at our cost and never uses a second credit.

5. Your content and your infographics

  • You own your content. The text you submit and the logos you upload remain yours, and as between you and us you own the infographics we generate for you, including for commercial use (social media, websites, slides, print, and so on).
  • You grant us a limited licence to store and process your text, logos and infographics solely to provide the service - nothing more (see the Privacy Policy).
  • Public examples are opt-in. If you switch on "Show in public examples" for an infographic, you let us show that picture as it is, with any logo, name or web address on it, and its title on our website, once we have approved it. Switch it off and we take it down.
  • Submit only what you have the right to use. That means text you wrote or are entitled to reuse, and logos and brand names you own or have permission to use. If you summarise somebody else's work, crediting them is your responsibility.
  • An infographic made on the free tier may carry a watermark, and carries a “Made with infographichq.com” footer unless it shows a footer of your own. Neither may be removed or cropped out.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • impersonate another person or organisation, or put a logo or brand on an infographic that you have no right to use;
  • use the service for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, defamatory or infringing content;
  • submit sexual content, hateful or harassing content about people for who they are, content that sexualises or endangers children, or instructions that help someone cause serious harm;
  • attempt to circumvent free-tier limits, rate limits, or security measures;
  • resell or provide the service to third parties as your own.

We screen submitted text automatically and may refuse to generate content that breaks these terms. Some platforms and contexts require you to disclose that an image is AI-generated - that responsibility is yours.

7. Our content

The InfographicHQ name, site design, and software are our property. These terms don't grant you any rights to them beyond normal use of the service.

8. Termination

You can stop using the service at any time, cancel your plan from your account, and delete your account from the account page or by emailing us. Deleting your account ends your plan, so you are not billed again, and permanently removes your infographics, brands and any remaining credits. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with unused paid credits refunded unless the breach involves fraud or abuse.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. You and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware for any dispute that is not resolved informally first.

If you are outside the United States, you use the service on your own initiative and are responsible for complying with your own local laws. If you use the service as a consumer, nothing in this section takes away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, or your right to bring a claim in its courts.
